Halie Loren - They Oughta Write A Song

from LWC Favorites: Songs Of Larry Wayne Clark by Larry Wayne Clark

about

Halie Loren … I just say those two words and my day brightens. Lovely, poised, brilliant, she moved to Nashville in her late teens and wrote a bunch of songs with a bunch of people, all of whom were disappointed when she opted to return to her native Oregon and go to college. But she's maintained her career there and these days is leaning toward being a jazz balladeer, and a thoroughly captivating one at that. This is the title song from her first jazz CD, which has been winning rave reviews, a melancholy little number written during her Nashville days. It gives me chills.
